Untitled Tea Towel
Untitled Tea Towel
Tea towel featuring the artwork ''Untitled' by Linda Davidson.
Linda is a Kamilaroi and Dharug woman currently living in Darwin, NT on Larrakia Land. Linda uses acrylic paints and natural ochres to communicate concepts and stories grounded in gamily, life, and cultural experience as a First Nations woman. Linda has been painting for over 35 years and has exhibited her artwork throughout Australia, Europe and the United States.
The artist drew inspiration for this painting from the connection that she and all First Nations peoples have with Country (land and water). Every circle represents a story of the land and the people who have cared for and passed over it for generations.
The blue represents the way that water passes through Country, nourishing people, plants and animals as it flows. This painting reminds us of the importance of respect for Country, for the Traditional Owners of where are, where you have been and where you are going.
