Linda is a Kamilaroi and Dharug woman currently living in Darwin, NT on Larrakia Land. Linda uses acrylic paints and natural ochres to communicate concepts and stories grounded in gamily, life, and cultural experience as a First Nations woman. Linda has been painting for over 35 years and has exhibited her artwork throughout Australia, Europe and the United States.

Linda’s painting Blood on the Ground depicts the flames of fire that represent the ways in which colonisation and the frontier wars have devastated different communities. Before colonisation, we had over 500 different tribes across Australia that practised sophisticated lores, cared for Country and nurtured our communities. Through the metaphorical fires set alight by settlers coming into our Countries, we saw both pain and suffering but also the birth of a new strength of our people. We are still strong and still here.
